DSL ZoneUK "Highly Rated" by Entanet

Postby James » 23 Feb 2007, 10:18

Please Note: This is no longer the case. We now have other providers coming in to and out of the top 5.

All top five ISP ratings on broadband information site DSL ZoneUK have been occupied by Entant and its Partners.

Leading voice and data communications provider, Entanet, has seen its growing reputation for high performance and reliability underlined this week by one of the leading independent broadband information web sites, DSL ZoneUK. The site's ISP ratings show that Entanet and four of its Partners occupy the top five positions based on end users' feedback and comments.

"Taking all five top positions is a landmark achievement" says Carol Davies, Business Development Manager for broadband at Entanet. "We work very hard to ensure we deliver consistently high levels of service to all our Partners and customers. It's great to see that being recognised on such a highly regarded source of broadband information as DSL ZoneUK".

In effect the top five ISPs are one, Entanet. All the others are just Entanet resellers and IMHO this distorts the ratings. I am not aware that a home user can sign-up directly with Entanet but I may be mistaken.
As far as I am aware Think Broadband does not list resellers.

Before I coded in the ability to rate the ISP resellers and not entanet themselves, all ratings went in under Entanet.

Thats why Entanet still have ratings by their name. Most people dont care who the reseller is, all they care about is who they purchased their broadband through (eg UKFSN).

You will notice that most ISPs out there are just resellers of a larger ISP. In act, they are all resellers of BT if you want to look at it that way.

The main reason we allow people to vote for resellers is that fact that these resellers all offer something different. Some do their own phone/email support. Some do web hosting. Some don't etc so its not fair to rate Entanet directly based on a reseller's services :)

James, that's fine but IMO it should be one or the other - the supplier or the resellers, probably the latter because as you say they each offer something different. But people are still posting comments on Entanet!

The real problem with getting this sorted out is that Entanet have hundreds of resellers.

At the end of the day why does it matter?

I see whats happening i think,Maybe James forgot to take Enta off the list for rating another ISP option,

As you can see below someone has voted for enta as there parents use them even though they don't know the reseller there parents are with.

Parents use Entanet (not sure of reseller), but so much better than mine. Can't wait for my contract to be up to move over to them. Had to speak to support once - no waiting, UK based and they knew what they were talking about!!

Entanet Slow Speed?

Postby Beano » 07 Mar 2007, 09:15

I moved to an ISP called MacAce on 14 Feb which I believe is an Entanet isp, this has given me a reasonably consistant service about 2Mb.

However today I noticed that the Speedtest option dropdown for Entanet has changed to include a 16Mb option rather than two alternative 8Mb (30Gb) and 8Mb (3Gb) .
I selected the 8Mb service but this test resulted in a very low 111Kb speed. Is this result an aberation or has the site change affected the result?

Where is a list of all the Entanet ISP's published as I cannot find MacAce!!

Nothing has changed on the site. I will check out MacAce and get them added to the list.

James quoted Entanet in saying:
All top five ISP ratings on broadband information site DSL ZoneUK have been occupied by Entant and its Partners

Surely, this is no longer the case, though, as Fast.co.uk are in the number one slot and are not an Entanet based company. :?: :?
